2. How to use Renee Undeleter to recover deleted files from external hard disk?

It is very simple to use Renee Undeleter to scan the hard disk and restore deleted files. The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Connect the WD My Passport hard drive to the computer, download and install Renee Undeleter on the computer, and run Renee Undeleter. Next, select the (Whole Disk Scan) option on the main interface.

IV. Common problems and repair methods of WD hard drives

1. The file system of the WD hard drive becomes RAW

When the file system of the hard disk becomes RAW, it signifies that the Windows system is unable to recognize it and the hard disk cannot be used or accessed properly. Thankfully, this issue can typically be resolved by formatting the hard disk.
Step 1: Right-click the Start menu and select (Disk Management).

If the external hard disk is used on the Windows system, it is recommended to choose the NTFS file system, and you can also check: the characteristics and differences of FAT32, NTFS, and exFAT.

Step 4: The formatting process will require you to erase all the data on the portable hard drive. Click on (OK) and wait for the formatting to finish. Once the formatting is done, the issue of the portable hard drive being in RAW mode will be resolved.

2. Windows prompts that the hard disk is not formatted, do you want to format it immediately?

3. The hard drive is inaccessible

The hard drive can often be inaccessible or denied access, posing a common issue. When this occurs, the suggested solution is to utilize the chkdsk command for repair. Additionally, checking for adequate permissions on the user account being used to access the hard drive may also prove beneficial.

Then check all options (including full control, modification, read and execute, read, write, etc) under the “Permissions for Users” – “Allow” column. Finally, Click (OK).
