Part 1: How to Embed Video in PowerPoint?

Generally, we can embed video in PowerPoint with two ways, inserting video into PPT and add hyperlink into PPT. Next, we will show you these two methods in detail.

It is noted that PPT merely supports WMV, MP4, AVI and MOV. If your video is in one of these formats, you can follow the below methods to embed video into PowerPoint. If the video format is not supported by PowerPoint, you should follow the steps of Part 2 to convert the video format beforehand. After that, you are able to embed video in PowerPoint.

1. Insert Video into PPT

It is easy to embed video in PowerPoint. Here are the steps.

Step 1: Select [Insert] – [Video] – [Video from File], and select the target PPT file.

Step 2: Then, select the functions at the top menu to adjust the position, size and playback effects.

Step 3: After that, click the icon at the upper left corner and select [Save as] to save the PPT file.

2. Add Hyperlink into PPT

Another way is to add hyperlink into PPT. That will not affect the file size of PPT because of the video. You can follow these steps to add the hyperlink.

Step 1: Open the target PPT file. Then, add a button or an image in a PPT.

Step 2: Right click at the image and select [Hyperlink].

Step 3: Next, select one of the ways to add the video, including current folder, browsed pages and recent files. Confirm the settings to return the PPT.

Step 4: Finally, click the icon at the upper left corner and select [Save as] to save the PPT file.

These are the ways of embedding video in PowerPoint. If your video format is not supported by PowerPoint, you can convert the format to WMV, MP4, AVI and MOV. Next, we will show you how to do.

Step1: Download and install Renee Video Editor Pro. Open the software and click on [Video Toolbox].

Step 2: Click on [Add Files] to select the target video.

Step 3: Then, select the functions at the top menu, such as [Cut], [Rotate&Crop], [Effect], [Watermark], [Music], [Subtitle] and [Opening/Ending].

Cut: Shorten video and adjust the playback speed.

Rotate&crop: Rotate video clockwise at 90/180/270 degree, achieve horizontal and vertical flip, and crop the video screen.

Effect: Add the filters, zoom effects and audio effects.

Watermark: Add text, image, video and shape watermark, and remove the original watermark from video.

Music: Import music into the video, or record voice from microphone, and remove the original sounds from the video.
