Causes of the Error Code 0xc000000f
Cause 1: PC is connected with Damaged Power Cord or External Devices
As the power cord is used for a long time, it could be damaged. As a result, there could be something wrong when trying to boot the Windows. The boot process will be haulted and users may receive the error code of 0xc000000f. Besides, if the PC is connected to external devices which can not work, it will also cause error code 0xc000000f.
Cause 2: BCD File Is Damaged or Missing
BOOTMGR boot loader is installed in Windows and BCD is a part of BOOTMGR. Moreover, BCD is a database of system configurations. If BCD is missing or damaged, it can not be found when you try to boot Windows.
Cause 3: System Files Get Damaged
If a PC is powered off while processing important data, system files may get damaged then error code 0xc000000f happens.
Solution 1: Check and Change Power Cord and Remove External Devices
Step 1: Check the connection cable and replace it with a new one if it is damaged or used for a long time.
Step 2: Try to remove all unncessary external devices including CD, USB, printer, etc. Then restart your PC.
Solution 2: Use Startup Repair in Windows Recovery Environment
Step 1: Connect your PC to Windows installation disk and start the PC.
Please change the boot order in BIOS settings and put CD-ROM or Removable Devices as the first boot choice. Then your PC will boot from Windows installation disk.
Step 2: After booting from Windows installation disk, please click “Repair your computer” in the bottom-left corner when you enter the Windows installation screen.
Step 3: Select “Troubleshoot”> “Advanced options”> “Startup Repair”. Then restart your PC after the recovery process completes.
Tips: You can also hold down the power button two times after you start your PC and will enter Windows Recovery Environment. Then select “Troubleshoot”> “Advanced options”> “Startup Repair”. Please be careful when you force Windows to start safe mode.
Solution 3: Repair or Rebuild BCD
Step 1: Connect your PC to Windows installation disk and start the PC.
Please change the boot order in BIOS settings and put CD-ROM or Removable Devices as the first boot choice accordingly. Then your PC will boot from Windows installation disk.

Step 2: After starting your PC, click “Repair your computer” then select “Troubleshoot”> “Advanced options”> “Command prompt”.
Step 3: Type these commands in order: bootrec / fixmbr, bootrec / fixboot, bootrec / scanos, bootrec / rebuildbcd. Please press “Enter” after you type each command.
Step 4: Once you type the above commands, Windows will be automatically scanned and BCD will also be rebuilt. Finally, restart your PC.
