What Causes Error Code 0xc0000034?
Cause 1: Error code 0xc0000034 is related with BCD. If the Boot\BCD file is damaged or missing some required information, error 0xc0000034 will appear.
Cause 2: Bad sector. Unreadable system files are stored at the bad sectors of hard drive.
Cause 3: Incompatible hardware or software. You may install some hardware or software that are incompatible with computer system.
Cause 4: System breakdown. In this case, Windows operating system needs to be restored or reinstalled.
Next, according to above causes analysis, you can try the following three solutions to fix the error 0xc0000034.
How to Fix Error Code 0xc0000034?
Solution 1: Fix Error 0xc0000034 via Windows Automatic Repair
Step 1: Connect Windows installation media (bootable USB drive) to the PC. Change boot order in BIOS setup and put “Removable Devices” as the first boot choice.
Step 2: After the PC booting from USB drive, click “Repair your computer” in the bottom-left corner.
Step 3: Then select “Troubleshoot”> “Advanced Options”> “Startup Repair”. Repair process may take some time. Please restart the PC after it completes.
If this way can’t fix the error 0xc0000034 successfully, please try the next solution.
Solution 2: Fix Error 0xc0000034 with Command Prompt
Step 1: Connect Windows installation media (bootable USB drive) to the PC. Change boot order in BIOS setup and put “Removable Devices” as the first boot choice.
Step 2: After the PC boot from USB drive, click “Repair your computer” in the bottom-left corner.
Step 3: Then select “Troubleshoot”> “Advanced Options”> “Command Prompt”.
Step 4: In the command prompt, type following commands. Please press “Enter” after typing each command:
Bootrec/fixmbr
Bootrec/fixboot
Bootrec/scanos
Bootrec/rebuildbcd
Reboot the PC after you execute above commands successfully. If this solution does not work, please try solution 3.
Solution 3: Scan and Repair Bad Sector
If solution 1/2 can’t fix the error 0xc0000034, it’s suggested to scan and repair the bad sector.
Step 1: Download the free hard disk detection tool - HDD-SCAN. Run it to scan the hard disk.
Step 2: The scan process may take some time. If there are lots of bad sectors, it’s suggested to restore them as soon as possible.
Step 3: You can restore bad sector with the repair tool that’s provided by hard drive manufacturer.
Tips Please note that the repair tool provided by hard drive manufacturer may erase the computer data while restoring bad sectors. It’s suggested to use Renee PassNow or the built-in Scandisk option in Windows.
If the repair tool is not available from suppliers, you can start the initial repair via built-in Scandisk utility in Windows 7/8/10.
Step 1: Press “Win” + “R” key.
Step 2: In the “Run” box, type in: diskmgmt.msc. Click “OK”.
Step 3: When you see the “Disk Management” window, right click the target partition and select “Properties”.
Step 4: Next, click the “Tools” tab and then click “Check”.
Step 5: In default settings, Windows 10 automatically fixes the system errors. If you’re using Windows 7/8, please remember to check the item “Automatically fix files system errors” and “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors”.
If there’re still lots of bad sectors or they occur frequently after fixing, you may need to replace the hard drive.

Step 4: After loading into the main interface of Renee Passnow, please select “Data Transfer” function.
Step 5: Select the original disk and target disk. And drag the target files to the target disk directly.
