3. Reset Device to Create New Encrypted iTunes Backup

1. On iPhone, go to [Settings] , [General] , [Reset] and [Reset all settings]. And then type in the code. This step restores only the settings, such as brightness, background, erasing the password from the encrypted backup and other settings without deleting user data or passwords.

2. Connect the device to iTunes again and create an encrypted backup.

For iOS 10 or earlier versions, the password cannot be reset. You can then perform the backup via iCloud.

4. Check the Keychain on Mac Computer

If you are using a Mac computer and you checked the box “Remember this password in my Keychain” before processing the encrypted backup on iTunes, the password is saved in the Keychain. You can open the Mac computer and verify the password in the “Keychain Access”.
