How If iPhone Ringtones not Working?
1. Check Mute Switch
First, you should check if you turn on the mute switch in these two ways:
Method 1: iPhone has a hardware mute switch located at the left side above the volume rocker. When the mute is in line with the volume rocker, the ringer is on. When the switch is offset from the volume rocker, the ringer is muted.
Method 2: Go to [Settings] – [Sounds &Haptics] and then check if you lower the volume in the option [RINGER AND ALERTS].
2. Check DND Mode
If you turn on the function [Do Not Disturb], calls and alerts that arrive while locked will be silenced. You can set the DND mode is scheduled at the specific period. You can follow these steps to check the function.
Open [Settings] – [Do Not Disturb], and check if it is enabled.
3. Turn off Silence Unknown Callers
Some calls are recognized as crank calls and then silenced by iPhone. You can check if the calls are muted and the function [Silence Unknown Callers] is enabled.
Go to [Settings] – [Phone] – [Silence Unknown Callers]. If the function is on, the unknown calls will be muted. In [Block Contacts], you can see the blocked calls, messages, mails and FaceTime calls.
4. Disconnect with Earphone
① Wired earphone
After plugging out the earphone, you still see the earphone icon at the top bar. That means your phone is still under the earphone mode.
You can clean the port and then repeat to connect and disconnect the wired earphone with your phone. If the earphone icon does not disappear, please restart your phone.
② Bluetooth earphone
For the Bluetooth earphone users, you should check if your phone is being connected with the earphone. How to turn off Bluetooth if the iPhone ringtones are not working.
Open [Settings] – [Bluetooth] and then disenable the function.
5. Restart iPhone
If you cannot solve the problem with the above methods, we suggest you restart your iPhone to remove the program errors. If it still doesn’t work, you should fix the iPhone.
