Part 1: What is iPhone Recovery Mode

Recovery mode means device will get into hard reset mode. In other words, recovery mode is the only way to solve iPhone errors like boot up failure, working failure.

1. Backup iPhone Data Regularly

Generally, we do not know when iPhone will go wrong. And once we encounter such situation, we need to restore the iPhone back to work with factory reset. However, this will erase all data inside the iPhone. Regularly backup will help us to free from such problem.

We can backup iPhone data in two ways: one is with iCloud and the other is with iTunes.

① Backup with iCloud

Connect iPhone to WiFi and then open iPhone. Go to [Settings]> [Apple ID]> [iCloud]> [iCloud Backup]. Then enable this function.

② Backup with iTunes

2.Disable iTunes Automatic Backup Function

User who backup iPhone with iTunes regularly will enable automatic synchronization function. Once this function is enable, data in the iPhone will be synced in PC and create as a new backup to PC whenever users connecting target device to computer. However, data in backup files will get damaged if you sync data with recovery mode. Automatic synchronization will detect the data consistency of Apps in iTunes database and iPhone. If the deivce goes wrong, automatic synchronization will fail. It is recommended to disable this function before factory resetting the device.

Go to iTunes. Find [Edit] > [Preferences] > [Devices] > check [Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically] options.
