Generally, the fact that multimedia files cannot be added to iTunes is generated from these two aspects:

① Bugs occur in iTunes

② The formats of some multimedia files are not supported in iTunes.

The followings are solutions.

1. Issues from iTunes

Many problems can lead iTunes not to run normally. When iTunes doesn’t work, we cannot add multimedia files to iTunes. For example, the security software developed by the third-party may blocked iTunes from interacting with its server or devices; errors occur when iTunes is synchronizing information, updating the version, backing up or restoring devices.

If you doubt that the issues come from the security software, check whether you meet with these situations:

iPhone, iPad or iPad Touch cannot be recognized in iTunes; these devices cannot be backed up, restored, updated, synced or activated.

Error 4, 6, 1630–1641, 3000–3999 or 9000–9999 pops up.

iTunes cannot be opened.

How to solve:

Uninstall the security software and reinstall/update iTunes to the latest version. Then, try to manually fix the transfer function in iTunes. Here are more details:

Step 1: Use a cable to connect between computer and iPhone. Then, open iTunes.

Step 2: Click the phone-like icon at the top left.

Step 3: Slide downward the page and find the option [Manually manage music and videos] in the section [Options]. Check this small option.

Step 4: Click at [Sync] at the bottom right. Finally, try to add the multimedia files to iTunes.

2. Issues from Multimedia Files
