1. Built-in Tools

1) Create a new folder and place all the files/folders you want to encrypt.

2) Go to Disk Utility, select File > New Image > Image from Folder from your menu bar.

3) In the next window, choose the location for the new folder image .

4) Then, name the image and select the Encryption from 128-bit AES encryption or 256-bit. And select the Image Format.

5) Set the password and return to the last window and click [Save]. Navigate to the location where you saved the folder image and double-click on it. It will have the file format DMG.

6) Enter the password to open the encrypted image next time.
