Summary In these recent years, USB flash drive is so convenient that it has been around our life. When saving confidential or private data in a USB, we should take security as priority. If we lock the USB, we won’t be worried about data leakage, even the drive is lost. So, do you know how to encrypt a USB flash drive?
The ways to encrypt a USB flash drive are divided into three types:
1. Pseudo-encryption: This way should not be part of USB encryption. The encryption way can be cracked easily by crackers, not safe at all.
2. Hardware encryption: USB can be encrypted and decrypted through the hardware which can realize the real-time encryption. It is the safest encryption way. The hardware encrypted USB flash drive is on sale.
3. Software encryption: USB is encrypted by the software. Generally, the AES algorithm is adopted in such software, which can speed up and smooth the encryption/decryption process as well as enhance security.
Next, we will tell you how to encrypt a USB flash drive with Renee SecureSilo and Renee File Protector.
Unlike the other pieces of encryption software, they can not only encrypt USB flash drives but also encrypt disks and files. Moreover, they are easy to use, clear and safe.
Part 2: How to Encrypt USB Flash Drive with Renee SecureSilo
Renee SecureSilo is the software that encrypts, hides files and protects USB flash drives. With adoption of virtual disks and AES256, it is hardly cracked down by the current decryption programs. That can greatly reduce the risk of data leakage and protect individual privacy well.
Since it encrypts files at partition level, you can modify your encrypted files without decompression and quickly save/add files. In addition, data will not be indexed or compressed again, which can greatly reduce the processing time compared with file encryption compression.
