During the development of Windows 10, its codename are so simple. The first version released in July, 2015 was named to be “Threshold 1″. The next one was “Threshold 2″. Then codename “RedStone” was adopted. And the upcoming Spring Creators Update will be codednamed Redstone 4.
And the Redstone 5 released in Autumn this year will be the last Windows 10 update to feature the Redstone codename. Then Microsoft will be moving to a new and intuitive codename format like 19H1, 19H2, 20H1 and 20H2.
Actually, this codename is similar to the naming format of Windows 10 version which is release year + month. Like the upcomping version is 1803 which means March, 2018 and Xbox is 1804 which stands for April,2018.
