5G Speed? How fast is it?

Forecast 5G Download Speed
At present, the exact speeds of 5G networks are yet to be finalized, early tests have already achieved remarkable results and then give us a good idea of what we can expect when the commercial 5G networks launches. From the tests of 5G Innovation Center in UK, the 5G speed tops out 1Tbps, 65,000 faster than the current 4G. At this speed, you can download a file which is 100 times larger than a movie in 3 seconds.
Of course, because of signal coverage and signal interference, such speed cannot be realized in the reality. 5G will be looking at data transfer speeds between 1Gbps and 10Gbps.
Reportedly, in an actual-use environment (rather than a specifically built test site), the Japanese communication operator DoCoMo has recorded the speed in excess of 2Gbps. In November 2017, an America site achieved the download speed of 2.8Gbps under the 5G networks. No matter which scale the 5G speed can end up, these impressive records tell us that 5G will transfer data in the gigabits per second, and it must be great innovation of data transfer.
Will 5G Challenge Terminal Transfer?
The fast transfer speed of 5G will follow AI and big data algorithms. Under such trend, the accessing storage of terminals should be compatible with the speed. Otherwise, it is hard to experience the changes of 5G networks.
Phones
UFS and eMMC are two editions of NAND flash memory for mobile phones. UFS is the currently advanced edition, obviously faster than eMMC. Each edition contains many sub-editions, and these sub-editions read/write at different speeds.

As we mentioned above, each 5G terminal will reach 1Gbps to 10Gbps per second. Since 1G is equivalent to 125MB, the devices should hold the accessing speed at 125MB/s to 1250MB/s.
If we only judge from NAND flash memory, the current UFS2.1 specification is barely enough under the ultra-fast 5G networks. The USF3.0 published recently can uplift the accessing speed to 23.2Gbps, completely empowering the accessing capacities under 5G networks.
PCs
In the era of 5G, not only can phones be powered by 5G networks but also computer can be one of the important members in the 5G ecosystem. It therefore requires us to consider the accessing performance and capacities. There are two types of hard disks, HDD and SSD. HDD is the traditional disk that differ speeds from RPM; while SSD is the new disk made of solid-state data storage array, with faster data transmission speed than HDD. Of course, the data transmission speed depends on the SSD interface specifications.

From this table, it is easy to find that the current HDD will extremely limit the 5G transfer speed. Meanwhile, the low accessing speed will have passive impact on the computer, such as getting stuck, blue screen or death screen.
On the other hand, in the actual-use environment of 5G networks, no matter SATA SSD or PCle SSD, they can easily hold the 5G transfer speed. Therefore, compared with HDD, SSD runs faster and gets a longer lifespan. If you are still using HDD, it is recommended to replace the HDD with SSD.
5G will reach high processing speed that will be 10 times faster than 4G, expected to hold more 100x increase in traffic capacities (statistics from Qualcomm). These data are telling us how important the low-consuming, reliable storage device will be. Predictably, as the 5G network construction is being improved, the requirements to the capacity and data transmission speed of storage devices will be raised as well. It is believed that more excellent storage devices will be released in the market. How to Transfer Operating System to SSD?
When you’ve initialized the new SSD and set the partition table, you can completely transfer the system in HDD to the new SSD. Steps
1. Select [Clone] > [System Redeploy].
2. In the pop-up screen, select the disk that saves Windows system and the target destination disk. Click [OK] to begin transferring.
3. Then, change the system to boot from the new disk in BIOS. Now, the system has been successfully transferred to the new disk.
