Step 1: Download, install, and run Renee Becca on the computer. Select the “File Backup” option in the main interface.
Step 2: Select the files to be backed up in the (Source) and choose the hard disk partition for storing the backup data in the (Destination).
In Scheduler, you can set up a daily/weekly/monthly automatic backup plan and enable it by clicking (OK).
Choose the appropriate backup scheme mode in Renee Becca based on your personal needs, with options including version chain mode, single version mode, full mode, incremental mode, and differential mode.
Renee Becca offers 5 backup plans: Version chain mode: Only the latest 5 versions are kept, and useless old versions are automatically deleted after the backup is complete. Single version mode: Only the most recent version is kept, and the previous version is automatically deleted after the backup is complete. Full mode: Create a full backup. Incremental mode: After the initial full backup, only incremental backups are created. Differential mode: After the initial full backup, only differential backups are created.
Step 3: Click the (Backup) button to execute the backup file command, monitor progress on the taskbar, and click (Recovery) to restore files when needed.
Step 4: Select the location for file restoration and click the (Recovery) button.
2. Automatic backup with file history
The file history in Windows 10 can automatically back up selected files. The specific steps are as follows:
Step 1: Run the Windows 10 computer, and click (Start)-(Settings) in the lower left corner.
Step 2: Next, click the (Update & Security) option.
Step 3: Select Backup in the left function bar, enable (Automatically back up my files) on the right, and click More options.
Note: Some versions of Windows 10 may display an “Add a drive” area for automatic file backup. Click on it and then select “More options” for further settings. It is advisable to back up files to an external hard drive to avoid data loss from system or hard drive issues.
Step 4: In the backup options interface, select the time interval and time limit for backing up files. For example, choose to back up files every 3 hours and keep backups for the latest month. Step 6: Confirm the backup location, items, and backup plan. Click (Save Settings and run backup) to start backing up the selected hard disk partition and execute the automatic backup plan.
